Berwickshire HA choose ActiveH (01/12/2009)

Scottish RSL and member of the SFHA (Scottish Federation of Housing Associations ) , Berwickshire HA is the latest RSL to select and implement the ActiveH housing management system. This was a result of an exhaustive competitive tender process involving detailed system feature analysis and workshop sessions with key staff.
Based in Duns, South East Scotland and managing approximately 1750 properties, Berwickshire needed to replace its previous housing management system (HomeRun). This will allow the organisation to move forward with a business plan that sets higher expectations. Having chosen MIS Active Management Systems, Berwickshire expects the system to be fully operational by July 2010. The MIS-AMS team involved in the procurement were seen as a close fit culturally and both sets of partners have already hit the ground running to have the project start in December.
David Loudon, Head of Corporate Services at BHA said “We are delighted to be working with MIS in the implementation of what will be a key operational tool. BHA aim to achieve not only higher operational efficiencies with the new system, but also for it to be a key factor in continuing to improve customer service”.

Once operational by summer 2010 the ActiveH Housing system is expected to be used by more than 20 staff and integrated with BHA’s other business applications such as their Homehunt choice based lettings system as well as the new implementation of the Sun Systems finance package that will go live in 2010.
Homehunt was initially developed by Berwickshire Housing Association, and then provided to a number of other customers via their Homehunt Subsidiary, who has been operating since 2001. More recently, BHA has been operating the system as part of a Common Housing Register ( CHR ) with two other local landlords.
