WHG introduce Choose and Move (10/04/2007)
Walsall Housing Group (WHG) have released their choose & move website which allows applicants to directly apply for housing end to end from the comfort of their own homes. This is a pioneering move from an innovative RSL allowing the whole process with no manual intervention. WHG are not currently aware of a similar RSL offering this seemless integration.
WHG have been active users of the MIS-AMS ActiveH Lettings system since spring 2006 and managed Choice Based Lettings (CBL) through a number of banded lists. The system utilises the ActiveH workflow engine to apply priority criteria to each applicant to select the appropriate band. The flexible nature of the system allows any number of questions to be recorded on one or more application questionnaires for each applicant. These can all be recorded using the web component including registration of contact, family and vulnerability details etc.
The project has been the culmination of just over a couple of months work. MIS-AMS provided a test webserver to enable the web designers to conclusively test their side of the development using Active Letting Web components and a cut of recent data from WHG. This accelerated development and provided the reassurance that on going live all aspects of the site would have been tested and verified.
Webpages were designed with the assistance of Emerald web solutions and guide customers through to registering on the website, entering personal details, which then list the applicant automatically on the MIS-AMS ActiveH Lettings system. Once registered, applicants can access their application on returning to the site easily by means of a unique reference number & a secure password.
The links below illustrate the start of an application being logged on the WHG chooseandmove.co.uk website using ActiveH Lettings Web:
- Locating WHG on the web
- Selecting Choose & Move from the main home page.
- Creating a new application
- Confirming applicant wants to continue
- Entry of Contact Details
- Entry of vulnerability, statistical & password details
The first two live applications were received two days after go live on the 12th April 2007. During entry of information a number of sensibility checks are inforced using integrated workflow to ensure only valid data reaches the Lettings system.
Linda Ferjani, consultant for WHG commented "As far as I can check from the outside world, the ICMWP looks exactly how we expected it to. Congratulations on a job well done. "
WHG Finance Director Martin Robertson & WHG Chief executive Liz Walford both congratulated the team (WHG, MIS-AMS& Emerald) on the successful creation of this new cutting edge service to customers.
