Abbeyfield Southern Oaks chooses MIS ActiveH Lite
Housing charity, Abbeyfield Southern Oaks has chosen MIS AMS’s ActiveH Lite housing management system to control its current estate of four sheltered houses with 36 residents.
“At the moment we’re a very small operation – rental income includes everything for our sheltered housing – including utility and food costs, which makes tracking rents simple, but the complexities will change as we grow,” explains Heather Northey, interim director of operations, Abbeyfield Southern Oaks.
“We’re currently building a 60-unit independent living community for people over 65 which will have many amenities including a restaurant, cinema room, clubhouse, convenience shop, fitness spa, and hairdresser which will be ready for occupancy in October and we want to be up and running with a housing management system that can help us easily control billing for services and utilities, as well as purchases made within the facility.”
Abbeyfield Southern Oaks a ‘not for profit’ and primarily volunteer led organisation, as a consequence of its planned growth will require a systems-based management tool that integrates both management of the new community with that of the sheltered. Implementing an entry level housing management system is part of the strategy going forward.
“We required a more transparent, auditable and consistent process-led housing management system that could scale up with our needs whilst being economically viable,” explains Heather Northey.
“MIS ActiveH Lite combines excellent functionality with an economically viable solution and it will scale up with us without requiring much more administration time from employees. We can also implement and test it out before we go live with the new care facility in October.
“Above all, it offers us a way to deal with the various processes when managing the properties and our residents without reinventing the wheel every time, because those processes will be in place and adhered to.”
Abbeyfield Southern Oaks represents another successful win and implementation of MIS ActiveH Lite since it was launched in 2016.
“ActiveH Lite can be used in organisations that are at their most embryonic in terms of growth – it really doesn’t matter how few assets there are to be managed or the lack of complexity at the point of implementation – it sets the stage for painless growth,” explains Chris McLaughlin, managing director, MIS AMS.
“It’s great to be working with Abbeyfield Southern Oaks and I hope we will be around to witness and help in those plans for growth.”
