MIS AMS ActiveH workforce management solution provides Accord with new revenue potential

Accord, one of the largest housing and health & social care providers in the West Midlands, has implemented MIS AMS’s ActiveH mobile workforce management solution to help manage general works, garden maintenance, window cleaning and many more contracted jobs delivered by around 140 internal contractors.

Accord Works, the group-wide internal labour force is now fully able to deliver everything from kitchen fitters to tree surgeons and window cleaners more efficiently managing its workforce so that it can deliver, not just internally across the organisation, but externally to generate new revenue streams.

“Prior to implementation, a quarter of contractors were Accord employees, with the rest made up of local trades and partnership agreements,” explains Coleen Whitehall, housing systems manager, Accord.

“The efficiency of the new system means that we can now deliver the works with our own contractors entirely, saving money on external contractors, whilst delivering our services to others outside of the organisation.

“The ActiveH mobile workforce management software also allows us to control all works across our estate, dealing with peaks and troughs around inclement weather for example, when repairs may be required quickly due to high winds. We can meet the needs of our customers and also provide a high quality service.”

Accord Works will make gains over time and become a ‘commercial arm’ of the organisation, selling its services to others who may need repairs and maintenance whilst keeping costs down for its own residents.
