MIS AMS is GDPR compliant
General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) has been a source of hot debate for months now and is reaching a pinnacle with the regulation coming into play and enforceable from 25th May 2018, after its two-year transition period.
To prepare for the implementation MIS AMS took the step to be audited by the company Data Protection People to ensure its way of working was compliant with the impending laws on handling personal data. The Data Protection Impact Assessment (DPIA) was undertaken to assess MIS’s housing management system – ActiveH.
The good news is that after a rigorous assessment MIS AMS ActiveH was given a full bill of GDPR health – it is completely compliant with the new regulation. MIS AMS received the following feedback:
- During the DPIA interview, MIS AMS demonstrated it can accommodate its users’ customisation and modification needs, it is also able to modify the system to comply with legal or regulatory updates, and this is done as and when required.
- MIS AMS staff through their tireless efforts and the positive engagement with regards to preparing for the General Data Protection Regulation, have developed a housing system to a suitable standard.
- The majority of the controls in place to protect the processing activities of personal data are automated; therefore, users can conduct their usual services with minimal manual interference. This is turn, reduces human error as the requirements of GDPR are naturally imbedded into the system. Due to the flexibility of the ActiveH system, MIS AMS is able to meet article 25 of the General Data Protection Regulation as the system has imbedded compliance by default.
Compulsory updates to become compliant have been undertaken free of charge to customers.
