MIS-AMS has presented a generous donation to a project that’s set to change the lives of an elderly community.

The team at MIS has kindly reached into their pockets to provide much needed funds for a project suitability named ‘Respond to St Johns College’ set up by Ireland’s leading housing association.

Respond!, having completed its biggest project yet –  transforming St Johns College in Waterford City into 67 self contained apartments. It has now asked supportive partners and valued contractors to help achieve its next goal – making this property a haven for it’s new residents.

Chris Mclaughlin, MIS-AMS Managing Director, said: “When we heard what wonderful plans Respond! had for their redevelopment and their new tenants – we just had to be involved. They approached us to help create a secure place to call home for the most vulnerable people in society, something we had to be a part of.”

“The news of plans for a day centre, sensory garden, community education centre and library for the new residents sounded utterly fantastic and we’re proud to support such a project. We hope our donation goes some way to kick start the plans.”

MIS-AMS has worked with Respond! for three years after an initial 11-month project. They currently use ActiveH and mobile surveyor accessible to residents via a customer portal.

Phillip O’ Reilly, National Coordinator of Services for Older People at Respond!, was delighted to hear about MIS kind donation: “Respond! is extremely grateful to MIS-AMS for their generous donation towards our Johns College fundraising campaign. The monies raised will provide essential support services for the most socially isolated and disadvantaged older people in Waterford.”
