MIS and WM Housing embark on system upgrade

WM Housing, one of the largest social housing businesses in the West Midlands, and MIS Active Management Systems have signed a new contract for the delivery of a new housing management system across the Group.

Angus Groom, Executive Director for Corporate Services, at WM Housing explained.  ‘WM Housing has grown tremendously in the last five years.  As each new member has joined our Group we have seen a growing diversification of housing systems, processes and use. This has made it extremely difficult to deliver integrated information solutions to our customers.

‘Two years ago, we took the decision to migrate from our current approach to a single housing management system.  After a full procurement, which included asking staff their views on the various systems shortlisted, we decided that MIS Active Management Systems offered the most effective and economic system for our needs.

‘This is one of the largest IT contracts in the housing sector this year and sits alongside work to upgrade our infrastructure backbone.  The contract with MIS Active Management Systems will last around 10 years and will include implementing a full mobile working solution to enable us to deliver more services right first time and rebalance our resources to provide a greater front-line presence in the areas where our customers live.

‘This is a particularly challenging project as we have to bring together five different housing and management systems into one whilst enhancing our contact centre, online presence and mobile working.

‘I am delighted we have now begun implementation and we expect phase one of the project to be live by the middle of next year.’

Christopher McLaughlin, Corporate Services Director at MIS Active Management Systems stated ‘This is a fantastic opportunity to work in partnership with one of the largest housing associations in the west midlands, whilst supporting WM Housing on their ‘Journey 2 Excellence’.
